At this stage, the client had received all ordered deliverables: the logo, brand guide, and packaging designs. The client wanted to purchase an e-commerce template, and the idea was to create key pages that would establish the website structure, overall aesthetic, and visual direction, including imagery. My goal was to design 7 pages for the Shopify platform.

Web header design

Web header may look simple, however it hides work and knowledge behind it. As you may know from my blog, the header is the most important part of a website, because it shapes the first impression and directly influences user behavior.

At the same time, a web header should have a certain vibe — it should shape the message and the overall atmosphere. This is one of the key challenges. Another challenge is to create effective text in a short form. A visitor should instantly grasp the overall image — the imagery, typography, and message — and this process should take only a moment.

The first web design options included versatile imagery and content suggestions. The client leaned to more calm and restrain aesthetic. After some brainstorm we arrived on the header message – Science Meets Luxury-Your Skin’s Perfect Pairing, Clinically proven actives and indulgent botanicals work in harmony to visibly renew and illuminate for a radiant, youthful complexion.

The client liked one of the selected images, but felt that it appeared too cold for the brand. To better align it with the desired aesthetic, I used Photoshop to adjust the image, introducing warmer tones and creating a softer, more inviting feel that matched the brand’s visual identity.

Body web design

The client asked to keep the body of the home page simple and focus on the most essential sections, as they were still searching for a template and did not yet know what content blocks would be included. Our goal was to establish a clear design system, including the typography hierarchy (H1, H2, H3), spacing rules, proportions between sections, and consistent padding and margin guidelines.

This design also helped define the color application across the website, including the colors for CTA (call-to-action) elements. The brand itself was created to feel calm and minimalistic, so you won’t find any loud or overwhelming elements here. The web design reinforces these brand qualities through its clean layout, restrained color palette, and generous use of space.

Inner pages design for a cosmetics company

We continued the design by considering the key e-commerce pages. We defined the most typical ones:

  1. Category page
  2. Product page
  3. Order Confirmation page
  4. About Us
  5. Contact us

This helped the client shape not only the key elements but also the content — they could see the overall layout and create a to-do list of what needed to be prepared from an organizational perspective, such as directions for use and ingredients for all items. It also revealed specifics like delivery conditions and shipping methods.

Coming soon web page design

One of the important pages is coming soon. A coming soon page allows a brand to exist before it is fully launched. Instead of leaving a website empty, it creates a first point of contact and begins shaping perception early. It helps capture initial interest and collect emails, building an audience before the official launch. This gives insight into demand and shows whether people are already engaged with the idea.

The client provided the content, and I suggested two design directions to convey a sense of purity and organic beauty. After a few iterations, we arrived at floral imagery that evokes a feeling of blooming, growth, and renewal.

Usually coming soon design is a very simple page, that includes general information and email input. Overall, this page page creates anticipation. Rather than silence, the brand communicates that something is in progress, which adds a sense of direction and intention.
