Social media design might become an important part of a business. It’s easy to get started – you don’t need to invest a lot of time or prepare any special documents to launch your social media presence. For small and medium-sized businesses, it’s a great starting point because it allows you to showcase your products and services while also learning more about your clients and analyzing how your products perform.
Once we completed the logo design and brand guide for Gemiarra, the client decided to start building their social media presence. They also wanted the final designs to be delivered as editable templates, allowing them to easily change the text and replace images themselves.
Jewelry logo and brand elements
When I started the social medial development I referred to the initial logo idea – the logo was created from the letter G and a drop outline to communicate the essence of water, evoking its crystal clarity, transparency, and shimmer.

I started breaking the logo down into its individual elements and exploring what visual assets could be derived from the drop shape. The drop can be used both as an outline and as a solid shape. It also contains a circle, which can be extracted and used as a separate graphic element across different templates.

Additionally, I explored other approaches for social media posts, including imagery and typography. To maintain the light, organic feel, I recommended using the colorful gradient as a background. For imagery, I advised using airy, natural photography featuring flora and greenery.
When I created the brand guide, I included a typography section that defined the roles of the fonts, including the primary and secondary fonts. I included a secondary font to sicial media templates to add more versatility to the visual identity and provide more flexibility across different types of content.

Jewelry social media design process
Once I separated the elements, I moved on to the content section. Social media posts should maintain consistency and follow a clear schedule, while each post should also work independently and be understandable without relying on previous or following posts. Since users may come across posts at different times, each piece of content should communicate its message clearly on its own while remaining visually engaging.
Social media posts should cover a variety of topics to appeal to different types of viewers, including first-time visitors, loyal followers, and potential clients. For the first set of posts, I created one informative post and two notification posts.

Some posts were designed to be more appealing from a mood and aesthetic perspective. Since the Gemiarra brand has an organic, airy feel, I created text-based posts that inspire viewers and help convey the brand’s mood. For a jewelry brand, it’s also important to showcase the pieces through high-quality imagery, so I included ideas for how the client could present their products visually.

The templates below demonstrate how the drop outline can be incorporated into social media posts. By using this template structure consistently, the drop becomes a recognizable and distinctive element of the brand identity.

Jewelry social media avatar and highlights

A social media avatar is one of the most important elements of a profile. It should remain visible and recognizable even when displayed in a small circle, such as in search results. For this reason, I prefer using the circular logo layout, as it allows the symbol to remain large, clear, and easily recognizable.
Social media highlights are the saved story collections displayed on a profile, usually below the bio. They allow users to quickly access important information even after the original stories have disappeared. I often see brands simply repeating their logos on Highlight covers, when these can be much more creative and visually appealing. I created versatile branded layouts for the Highlights, helping the profile feel more cohesive and visually connected to the overall brand identity.
