Bohemian, eye-catching, unusual logo design for for a silk bedding company

This logo was created on a platform, 99 designs, you can check my profile here. The brief was very short: “My company sells bedsheets, room scents, and candles. Our target audience is people with higher spending power who don’t mind splurging on indulgences like candles”. That was almost all I had to start with.

I chose to work on this logo even with very short information in the brief because of the name — Maison Nirvana. From the start, I noticed strong potential in the letter connections, and the look that appeared in my head motivated me to move forward with this project.

Also, a few more keywords were mentioned in the brief: the client wanted to position the brand as classic, elegant, high-end, sleek, and French in style. The French style is often associated with a bohemian look, meaning muted tones, a refined aesthetic, flowing lines, and serif typography – and it directed me on font selection. Also, the wording was long, so I decided it should be set vertically.

I chose a font that suited these letters and selected the most striking and well-balanced connection between them. You can find the initial font here. As always, just a wordmark is not enough – it should be a symbol.

Symbol design for a silk bedding company

Working on the symbol, there are generally different directions — it can be a lettermark or an object like a sun or a tree. Since it’s a bedding company, the object route could include flowing lines, a pillow, or a blanket. However, the way the logo sounds led me to choose a lettermark direction.

I liked that the first letters were M and N — they feel harmonious together, with similar line direction and parallel strokes. Their sharper form creates contrast with typical bedding logos, which tend to use soft, rounded shapes, helping this logo stand out.
